Clemons Family

My Grandmother Helen Norman Edwards Grandmother was Loretta Elsie Clemons Norman. She recalls she and her sister Mildred playing with Loretta's hair as children. My Grandmother says there wasn't much of it and it was long and gray. They combed it and styled it. She recalls that at one point they wound her hair so tightly around a comb it became caught and the comb had to be cut
out of her hair.

Loretta's parents moved to Sultphen on Chapman Creek, Dickinson County, Kansas in 1870.

Loretta's Great Grandfather (my fifth Great Grandfather) Samuel Pettibone Clemons died in the War of 1812. His Grandfather John Clemons resided in Massachusetts in the 1730's and died after 1770 in Litchfield, CT.
