Notes for Martha Ann McIntyre
Upon her husbands death she moved into the city of Wellsville, Kansas and in July, 1911 she moved to Baldwin City, Kansas to live with her son James.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church until 1899, at which time she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Wellsville.

Obituary:
Martha Ann McIntyre was born in Adams county Ohio, March 11, 1842. She was married to James P. Wasson, September 1, 1859, near Cherry Fork, Ohio, where they lived for 18 years. In 1877 they moved near Wellsville, Kansas where they engaged in farming. To this union were born 3 sons and 3 daughters. One of the sons died in infancy, the second son, William C. died when he was seventeen years of age. The husband and father died January 17, 1898.

Mrs. Wasson united with the United Presbyterian church during her young womanhood and remained a member of that church until 1899, when she united with the Methodist Episcopal church because there was no United Presbyterian church in Wellsville where she went to live after her husband's death. She was a faithful and devoted member of that church.

In July, 1911 she went to Baldwin, Kansas, to live with her son, James O. Wasson. She had been in delicate heath for several years. Last May, however, her infirmities increased and some weeks ago her illness assumed a serious character. Her advanced years and the depleting nature of her disease was too much for her constitution to endure. She passed to her rest from suffering December 20, 1911.

She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Cora Esther Ernst, Wellsville, Kans.; Mrs. Elnora Patton, Wellsville, Kans., Mrs Albertine Wasson, Baldwin, Kans., and by her son James O. Wasson, Baldwin, Kans.

She was a tender, affectionate and devoted mother, and highly esteemed and beloved by her many friends.

The body was brought to Wellsville, Friday afternoon, and the funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church. The Rev. Elliott of Edgerton, assisted by the Rev. J. C. Wilson, was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Wellsville cemetery.
Notes for James P. (Spouse 1)

Corpl. COG, 129 Ohio Inf., Civil War.
