Antwerp, Ohio, Sunday, February 20, 1958 - "Rites Held For Porter Hawkins" - Porter Hawkins, 62, of Antwerp, died about 2 p.m. Monday, February 10, in the home of a neighbor after a heart attack. A lifetime resident of Antwerp[, he was a veteran of World War I, serving 26 months with the Rainbow Division overseas, and a member of Anthony Wayne Barracks, No. 30 veterans of World War I, in Fort Wayne, and the Cottrell-Boylan Post of the American Legion. Survivors include three brothers, Fred and Gerald, Antwerp, and Harry, Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Alta Franklin Payne, and Mrs Helen Breay, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Schilb & Sons Funeral Home, Antwerp. Burial was in the Maumee Cemetery, where the Legion Post conducted military services. |
