| The Antwerp Bee-Argus, Antwerp, Ohio, Wednesday, April 14, 1976 - "Bessie Hawkins" - Bessie Hawkins, 79, Antwerp, died Friday evening in Paulding County Hospital. She had been a patient for two days. Mrs. Hawkins was born February 9, 1897 in Woodburn, Indiana. Parents were Joseph and Mary (Lyon) Gustin. In 1919 she married Fred Hawkins, who died in 1961. She was a member of the Antwerp American Legion auxiliary and the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dora Boren and Mrs Edith Wooten, both of Woodburn, and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Schilb Funeral Home, Antwerp. Reverend Miles Watkins officiated. Burial was in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp. |

The Antwerp Bee-Argus, Antwerp, Ohio, Thursday, January 4, 1962 - "Rites Held For Porter Hawkins" - A veteran of World War I, Fred Hawkins, 64, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Veterans Hospital, Fort Wayne. Survivors include his wife, Bessie, two sisters and a brother. Services were held Tuesday at the Schilb & Son Funeral Home. Burial in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp, where military rites were performed by the American Legion.
